Tender Round 7

Offshore Transmission Owner (OFTO) Tender Round Seven (TR7) is expected to start in late-November 2020. TR7 will enable bidders to compete to own the transmission assets of two offshore wind farm projects: Moray East and Triton Knoll.

Moray East

  • 900MW capacity
  • Jointly owned by Diamond Green Limited (33.4%), Moray Offshore Renewable Power Limited (33.3%), Delphis Holdings Limited (23.3%) and China Three Gorges Limited (10%)
  • Located approximately 22km off the Caithness coastline in Northern Scotland

Triton Knoll

  • 857MW capacity
  • Jointly owned by RWE Renewables (59%), J-Power (25%) and Kansai (16%)
  • Located within the Greater Wash, approximately 20 miles off the coast of Lincolnshire and 28 miles from the coast of north Norfolk

Together, we expect the OFTO transmission assets in TR7 to be worth in excess of £1.3 billion.

TR7 information event

On Friday 20 November 2020, Ofgem is holding a webinar information event starting at 9am. This event will be led by Akshay Kaul, Director – Networks and Jourdan Edwards, Head of the OFTO Regime, with presentations on the broader context for TR7 and the tender process. Bilateral meetings: If, following the event, interested parties have further questions on TR7 for Ofgem and their financial advisers, Smith Square Partners in consortium with Centrus and CEPA, please request suggested dates and times to tendercoordinator@ofgem.gov.uk and we will seek to arrange an appropriate time.
